"Rainbows only happen when it's raining" ~ Fleetwood Mac |
Rain is just another part of natures wonder. Everything nature does serves a purpose. We may not understand it in the moment and it may not be happening in a way that we find pleasing or even logical. But Nature knows it's reasons.
What I find interesting is that Nature's pattern is cyclical. Winter, Summer, Spring and Fall we can count on them to happen the same time every year BUT they are not the same every year. Every year the seasons are different, the temperatures, amount of rain, the amount of snow even when they start. And yet as humans we tend to see them as the same. It's interesting how change is everywhere all the time and yet we don't always see it that way. We get so stuck on an idea or on our pattern that we don't see the change that is happening every moment. And finally when we look up from the life we've created for ourselves we see that things around us have "changed".
We've worked so hard to keep things the same and then damn it everything changes! The reality is that every moment is changing...today is not the same as yesterday - it may FEEL that way but its not. You didn't drive next to the exact same cars as you did yesterday. You didn't wake up in the same exact spot in your bed as yesterday. In fact your breathing wasn't even the same pattern and you probably had a completely different dream. Change is all over, all the time, every moment. We just choose not to see it and to see things as the same. Wow aren't we strange creatures. We are the only creatures on the earth that do this. Animals always live like it's their last day. We tend to live for tomorrow - when really today is all that matters.
So how does this relate to enjoying the Sun..even when it's raining? Well that's a good question and possibly one only you can answer but for me it means that what I think is the same old same old is really just a matter of my perception. NOTHING is the same old, same old - it just LOOKS that way. So today I am going to be aware of the differences in my life and enjoy the changes that are all around.
